Genesis 25:23
“And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.”
From the womb it was prophesied that Esau and Jacob would have two different manners. Esau's manner was that of a profane person, in that he did not care for the things of God.
Did Esau have the freewill to refuse to sell his birthright to Jacob in exchange for the measly bowl of red pottage and lentils?
Yes! Esau had a choice just like we have a choice.
When God told Rebekah that there were two manners of people in her womb, He foreknew what manner of people that Esau would be. It doesn't mean that Esau never had a choice as to whether he would despise his birthright or not. It just means that God already new what Esau would do.
God's predestination begins with His foreknowledge.
